ABOUT THE ARTIST...   

Internationally known conductor and teacher Svilen Simeonov is Principal Conductor of Sofia Sinfonietta Orchestra since 2000. The Principal Conductor of Vidin State Philharmonic since 1999. Music Director and Chief Conductor of Sofia Amadeus Orchestra since 1994. Svilen Simeonov has established himself as one of Bulgaria’s foremost conductors. He has been awarded Musician of the Year Prize with Sofia Amadeus orchestra (1999), the Crystal Lyre Award (2001) with Colegium Musicum-Bankja, and the Golden Lyre Award with Sofia Sinfonietta (2007 -2012). A dedicated educator, Maestro Simeonov has taught conducting in Sofia – Bulgaria, Yangstown-Dana School of Music-USA,Seoul–Korea, Hanoi–Vietnam, Kozani and Vlasti–Greece, Festival of the Gulf–Italy. As a permanent guest conductor Svilen Simeonov is serves at the Strauss Festival orchestra and ballet since 2007 with Euroconcert and Promoconcert the Operetten Buhne Wien, Heinz Helberg since 2004 and Teatro Lirico d’Europa since 2001.

Maestro Simeonov has performed in virtually every prestigious concert hall in the world among which are: Berlin Philharmonic Hall, Musikverein the Gold Hall–Vienna, Concertgebouw–Amsterdam, Victoria Hall - Geneva, Ton Halle-Zurich, Palau de la Musica – Barcelona, Auditorio National de Musica–Madrid,Theater Monumental de Madrid, Teatro de Zarsuela Madrid,Theatro Tivoli & Coliseum-Lisbon,Casa de Musica-Porto, Bulgaria Hall–Sofia, RAI-A. In 2011-2016 season Maestro Simeonov will performing all symphonies by Gustav Mahler with Ohio Festival Orchestra in Yangstown - USA.
